Week Two Writing Assignment

Long term goals

My long term goal is to be a person who works with Korean people for promoting cultural exchanges between South Korean and Japan. Although I have not decided yet what aspects of culture I would promote to exchange and how to contribute to that work, I have been eager to be engaged in that kind of work since I was high school students. For achieving my dream, I set two rather long term goals.

Firstly, I will reserach the uniqueness of both Korean and Japanese cultures and learn their cultures as an academic field in South Korean as an exchange student. Secondly. I will study at a graduate school in Korea or Japan to get deeper understandings about Korean culture and use the knowledge for my career. I will achieve these long term goals and accomplish my dream.

Short term goals

In order to achieve the longest term goal and long term goals, I set three short term goals.

The first goal is to get more knowledge of Korean language. To accomplish this goal, I study hard to mark full points in every Korean quiz. Additionally, I try to remember extra Korean vocabulary by reading and listening to Korean every day.

The second goal is to find the best interest of mine in Korean culture by reading books, watching TV programs, and listening to lectures. Since I have not decided to what aspects of Korean culture I would deeply study, I want to clarify what I am interested in the most before studying in Korea.

The third goal is to get high score in GPA which is required for an exchange students and cultivate my mind through studying.

I will do my best to achieve these short term goals step by step and I will also attain my longest goals which become a person who cooperate with Korean people and promote cultural exchanges.
